LLLC meetings - You are always welcome to attend LLLC meetings before and after you have had your baby. Bring your breastfeeding questions and concerns, talk about your joys and challenges or come and just listen. Babies and young children are always welcome, and some Groups include father/partners in some or all of their meetings.

 PARENT'S SUPPORT GROUPS

  

Morden Family Resource Centre
Offers programs that parents or caregivers can take their kids to and participate with them. Their main areas of emphasis are literacy, numeracy, nutrition, physical activity, and social development.  They offer programs in 6-week sessions on Monday-Thursday mornings.  They have programs such as kit and kaboodle, number train, music programs, cooking programs, gym programs and art/sensory play programs. MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL HEALTH  CARE

 

 Anxiety Disorders Association of Manitoba (ADAM):
In Central Region (which includes Winkler, Morden, Carman, Portage la Prairie,etc.) the outreach worker is Connie Eagle at 204 325 1385. 


Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba (MDAM):
MDAM offers support groups for people with depression (e.g. major depression, postpartum depression, etc.)
In Central Region (which includes Winkler, Morden, Carman, Portage la Prairie,  etc.) the outreach worker is Tami Giesbrecht who can be reached at 204 325-8206

Pembina Counseling Centre:
Pembina Counseling Centre is a professional counselling service administered by a community based board. Clients are welcomed for help with dealing with the issues of life. Appointments for sessions are accepted from anyone seeking counselling services. Fees for service are reasonable and adjusted to individual income levels.

No one is tuned away because of their inability to pay.

Genesis House – Family Violence Crisis Line:
Genesis House exists so that people of South Central Manitoba will be free from family and intimate partner abuse at a resonable cost. They provide a confidential serivce, which includes a shelter for abused women and their children, residential and non-residential programs and prevention through public education. Pembina Valley Pregnancy Care Centre: 
This group offers support to anyone impacted by pregnancy. All services are free, confidential and include pregnancy tests, counselling, ongoing support and information on pregnancy, sexuality, parenting, adoption and abortion. We do not perform or refer for abortion services.

Many Hands Resource Centre:
Many Hands Resource Centre helps people in many different ways. One of the first objectives is to start a food bank or food pantry, a place for people to come and get some help with food if they need that. It is also running a community kitchen series which is a program where participants come and cook nutritious meals together, eat together and then take some leftovers home.The centre’s hours of operation are Tuesdays 1-3 pm and Thursdays 5-7 pm.
